On June 7, Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin came to China for an official visit, during which he engaged in fruitful conversation with Feng Xingya, President of GAC Group in Beijing. The two sides held an in-depth discussion on deepening economic and trade cooperation and developing the strategic layout of GAC in Brazilian market.

GAC Group had thorough exchanges with Alckmin on its investment plans in the Brazilian market, auto industry upgrade and market development. Feng Xingya stated that GAC Group regarded Brazil as a critical market in its internationalization strategy, and planned to expand investment in Brazilian market and accelerate the introduction of high-quality product portfolioses. In order to provide Brazilian consumers with GAC's quality products earlier at favorable prices, GAC is speeding up efforts to promote the launching of the first batch of vehicle products in Brazilian market. This can lay foundation for GAC's future localized production in Brazil.

Alckmin welcomed GAC's investment intention and stated that the Brazilian government would continue to promote its opening up policy to attract foreign investment and create an enabling business environment. "We warmly welcome GAC to invest and enter the Brazilian market for stronger China-Brazil economic and trade cooperation and exchanges," he said. " Brazilian government will be GAC's reliable partner in entering Brazilian market and provide assistance within its capacity."

Brazil is the sixth largest auto market in the world and the largest market in Latin America, with the overall market capacity ranging from 2 to 3 million units, providing a broad market for GAC. In May this year, Zeng Qinghong, Chairman of GAC Group, led a team to Brazil for market research and carried out business negotiations with potential Brazilian partners. In October 2023, Feng Xingya visited Brazil for in-depth market research, which gave him great confidence in the local automotive market. The meeting with Alckmin has further strengthened GAC's determination and confidence in developing Brazilian market.

After the meeting, Feng Xingya introduced a number of GAC Group models to Alckmin, including the plug-in hybrid electric models GAC Motor E9 and ES9, as well as electric vehicles HYPTEC HT and AION Y Plus. Having experienced the comfort of GAC Motor E9 and HYPTEC HT by sitting in the cars, Alckmi highly praised the spaciousness, craftsmanship in design and intelligent technology, and looked forward to the rapid introduction of GAC's new energy models to Brazilian market.

The conversation took place during the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil and is an important milestone in deepening economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.
